Keypiece

Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion is architecture: It is a matter of proportion." Whether or not she had key rings in mind we'll never know, but there's no denying the chicness of Luxembourg-based designer Anne-Marie Herckes' pint-size collection of hand-made key rings, brooches, and charms, which are inspired by fashion history and icons (the Romy key chain pictured above, for example, is inspired by Romy Schneider's costumes in Vittorio De Sica's "Boccaccio '70"). Herckes, who studied in Vienna under Viktor Horsting and Raf Simons, describes her accessories as "miniature couture with a twist of irony." The line is available at Restir in Tokyo and Colette in Paris.

The Actress Wears Lancome

The starring role in "The Devil Wears Prada," the copious gossip page mentions, and the transformation into one of Valentino's intimates have all added to Anne Hathaway's style chops. Completing her fashion insider status is the announcement that she's been named an ambassador for the French cosmetics behemoth Lancôme. Just what the actress' role will entail has yet to be announced, but her duties will begin in September and continue for an undisclosed period of time. As Odile Roujol, president of Lancôme International, put it, "Anne Hathaway is a radiant young woman who perfectly embodies modern femininity. We know she will portray all the passion and excitement of our new fragrance."

Fancy That

London-based designer Julia Clancey hasn't had any formal fashion training, but you'd never guess it by looking at the intricately embroidered, draped dresses she's been turning out of her studio for the past four years. Clancey's frocks, which feature showstopping elements like pagoda sleeves hand-embroidered with hundreds of Swarovski crystals, have traveled down European red carpets on the backs of Victoria Beckham and Dita Von Teese. No photo ops on your agenda? No worries: The former music-video stylist plans to roll out a collection of tunic-length blouses that double as minidresses, with prices starting at $500. There's just one catch: Clancey's sartorial offerings are only available across the Atlantic at Harrods and Coco Ribbon, among other shops. For now, anyway.

24/7 Flats
From FabSugar
You know those not-so-fresh days? Even I have moments of style slaking when I really just want to run my errands in a pair of Chucks and an old hoodie. However, I have a reputation to upkeep. Not that there's anything wrong with dressing casual, it's just a disgrace to my collection of 24/7 flats. Meaning flats that are so fabulous they work around the clock, because of glam details like rhinestones, glitter, and pearls. As this week's Life&Style points out, even divas-in-the-making like Rihanna tone things down with a pair, but not too much. Really, all you need is a white tee, an easy-going pair of jeans and you're stylish — 24/7.

10 Definitive Moments
1. The models are too thin. Wait, are they? Spain and Milan ban "too thin" models after two beauties die from anorexia. New York fashion week adopts guidelines that say a lot and accomplish nothing, with the most frail models simply disappearing from the NYC shows for that season.

4. Halle Berry’s cerulean Versace, Cameron Diaz’s fuschia Dior, Reese Witherspoon’s yellow Nina Ricci and Gwyneth’s peach Zac Posen gowns.

5. After only three episodes of Gossip Girl, the ladies of the show managed to launch themselves into the forefront of the 20-somethings fashion scene, both on and off the set.

2. America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway, still as amazing as ever!
3. Plaid: proving that with the right accessories and in the right materials, this print (in its non-Burberry incarnations) has a life beyond lumberjacks, Scotland and the kilts of schoolgirls.

6. Panties, or lack thereof: Lindsay, Britney and Paris all did it, “accidentally” flashing crowds of paparazzi their bare bottoms (and other bits) while getting out of cars sans culottes.
7. The debut of a cleaner, leaner and much more sharply dressed Marc Jacobs.
8. The continually evolving style of Katie Holmes; lady isn’t afraid to endure a little pain for fashion, even after running a 26-mile marathon …
9. Any fashionable (or not) sightings of Ashley and/or Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Bosworth, and Cate Blanchett. And of course, Victoria Beckham.
10. More bold fashion from Patricia Fields, in the Sex and the City movie and the upcoming Cashmere Mafia.

Chanel Pre-Fall 2008 Campaign
Here is the ad campaign for Chanel's Pre-Fall 2008 collection which was shown in London last night.
My favourite piece of the whole collection was the coat above which is so chic and elegant.
The campaign features one of my favourite models Coco Rocha.

The Louis Vuitton Leopard Scarf
Last year the must have celebrity accessory was the red leopard print cashmere scarf from Louis Vuitton.
This year Louis Vuitton created the same overwhelming demand for a brown version of the scarf.
Particular lovers of this scarf were Sarah Jessica Parker, Sienna Miller, Sophie Dahl, Sofia Coppala, Kate Moss, Jessica Biel and Keira Knightley.
To be admired no?

The Celeb to Watch in 2008
What I noticed was her style is evolving very quickly. Some stars like Katie Holmes took years to get to were she is now, but Blake is already looking like a veteran.
I will be keeping a close eye on her in 2008.
